TITLE: Student Services Receptionist
REPORTS TO: Student Services Manager
LOCATION: Chanhassen, onsite
STATUS: Non-exempt; 0.25 FTE; 4 - 10 hours per week
SCHEDULE: WED 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
SAT 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM (September – May only)
Job Summary
The Student Services Reception role provides basic customer service in a manner that maintains good customer relations and is responsible for creating a positive first impression.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Skills. Effective communication skills including listening, and persuasive and clear speaking.
Abilities. Ability to practice empathy and self-control, use positive language, stay calm and demonstrate patience, project welcoming and vibrant presence. Willingness to improve, and to take responsibility for customer solutions. Ability to switch focus rapidly.
Physical Demands. Infrequent lifting and carrying of up to 10 lbs. Infrequent pushing of pianos. Frequent transition from sitting to standing. Sitting up to 2 hours at a time; standing up to 1 hour at a time.

Job Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Open and close the building when working at a MacPhail leased site
- Greet and welcome students in a friendly manner
- Answer phones and transfer calls as needed
- Answer questions regarding room locations
- Monitor and respond to emails in a shared inbox as directed
- Refer registration-related questions to Student Services Representatives
- Set up rooms as requested, including moving carts, chairs, stands, and occasionally instruments
- Understand and implement MacPhail's Chanhassen security and safety practices
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience. High-school diploma or equivalency. 1-3 years customer service experience.Skills. Effective communication skills including listening, and persuasive and clear speaking.
